Harold strands his apathetic son on the other side of the country. The challenge: make yourself interesting - find your way home and don’t do it quickly. He then alienates his self-hating daughter and pushes away his bored wife to setup this blunt, multi-generational black comedy/drama.
Told from an Asian American perspective by writer|director X. Dean Lim with a script that scored in the top 5% on The Black List, First World Problems is set to premiere at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival.
Featuring Stephen Park (Fargo), Tamlyn Tomita (Berlin Station), Brandon Soo-Hoo (Tropic Thunder) and Nikki Soohoo (The Lovely Bones) and shot by the ethereal lens of Chris Saul (Nike, Lenovo), First World Problems asks just how bad is your shit, really?

Need music to create to? Do yourself a favor, choose five of your favorite songs and go to Youtube. Type them into the search window along with the words “acoustic cover.” Or even “ukulele cover.”
Try to avoid performers with more than a a thousand views. Look for the students, the ones who record themselves in between Organic Chemistry and Econometrics or the dads who took up music late in life and everyone’s asleep in their house. And look for the ones without a good microphone.
You’ll realize this: talent comes from anywhere and there is so much it in the world.
